What's Your Story?

Whoa, I mean, WHOA! Seriously, ClassDojo just keeps getting it right!

As teachers, connecting with parents is one of the most difficult struggles. Being able to connect with parents via ClassDojo Messenger makes that SO much easier for me. But now, they've added yet ANOTHER awesome feature to help parents, teachers, AND students connect - ClassStory.

Think of it as Instagram for the classroom. Every classroom has a story; now, teachers can share that story with pictures and text from the day about what students are learning, and parents can show how much they "like" it by giving hearts! Too cute! - and PS: there were over 60 THOUSAND teachers on the wait list for this feature!

I just posted a link to a Brainpop video on my ClassStory about Labor Day. I offered 3 points to any student who emailed their quiz results to me! How fun is that?! I would have LOVED to interact with my teachers that way!

I have also posted our standards for the week, along with links for at home practice. I'm really looking forward to sending out pics of my students implementing those standards!

ClassStory has taken the, "What did you do at school today?" question to a whole. 'nother. level.

While parents can't always be in the classroom, now they can get an insider's look at what their child's class is doing!

To get access to this new feature, you need a ClassDojo account. If you already have one, just update your app! If you'd like to learn more about ClassStory, click HERE for more information.

If you have questions about privacy, click HERE. It's all kosher ;-)

So, What's Your Story???

Every Classroom Has a Story...

So, remember when I told you that ClassDojo had THREE AMAZING announcements coming? Well, today is #2!! Let me introduce you to ClassStory:

ClassStory is a beautiful new way to engage and share with the parents of the students in your classroom! It's so easy! You (as the teacher) post an announcement in your ClassStory and parents show their #classdojolove by giving hearts. Isn't that SO cute!! You can share pictures, too!

The greatest part about ClassStory for my classroom needs is that several parents cannot physically come to my classroom. So many of them work jobs where they just cannot get to school at meeting times. Now, they can see everything going on in our classroom by looking at the ClassDojo app on their phone - or the website!

As of now, ClassStory is in Beta, meaning a trial period. If you are interested in testing out this new, fantastic feature, click HERE to sign up!

I've been testing it out for about a week now, and I can tell you - it's awesome! You're going to love it!

If you're interested in becoming a ClassDojo mentor for your school, click HERE! There are some great perks ;-)

Please feel free to tweet this post :-) And stay tuned for the next BIG announcement... ;-)

It's a Group Thing...

Y'all, I'm so excited! This is happening, TODAY!!

I cannot begin to explain how helpful this will be in our classroom! I don't know about you, but I have multiple groups going all day long: table groups, reading groups, RTI2 groups, teams, and possibly even groups for class jobs. By adding this ability, ClassDojo will save me precious minutes of instructional time! That may not seem like much at first, but 5 minutes a day over the course of a school year adds up to about 15 hours GONE! No longer will I have to individually choose students to give points - now I just click on the group, reward them, and stay the course! It will even add the points awarded to the groups to the individual students within them! So cool!

If you're wanting to learn more about using ClassDojo Groups, click on the link. You won't be sorry ;-)

And P.S. - This is only one of THREE amazing announcements coming soon!!
